Visiting Copenhagen
Copenhagen is always worth a visit, also if you are briefly passing and only have a little time at your disposal. If you are a business traveller, you might seize the opportunity to look around - to visit a recommended restaurant or perhaps jogging around the Copenhagen Lakes. Others wish to go the Opera and have planned their trip after the repertoire at the Copenhagen Opera House. The city offers a plethora of possibilities, but the most important is to focus on what really interests you. Put the popular tourist attractions at the bottom of your list, if they are not want you are enthusiastic about. The city is as an open book - and you can begin where ever you want, the story will be new each time.

We have drawn up a list, containing different experiences and activities. Of course there are plenty of other possibilities, but here are a few recommendations.

Parks:
Kongens Have (The Kings Garden)
The Kings Garden is where the sun and the garden art of the season can be enjoyed. The gardens design in itself is also interesting, laid out at the beginning of the 1600's, at the same time Rosenborg Castle. An oasis in the big city. In the summer time you take a breake at the café under the large shady trees.

Ørstedparken
A smaller, but pleasant park. Ørstedparken is almost as centrally located as possible. C
lose to the City Hall Square and Nørreport. The park can be used for jogging, but altso just for relaxation - and a cup of Caffé latte.

Kunst:
Louisiana
A high-profiled museum of modern art. You should not miss Louisiana, even if it requieres some transportation to get there from the centre of the city. It is always a great experience to visit Louisiana, even if art is not one of your main interests. The museum is so delightfully situated, that you can make the journey alone for this reason. At train stations you can buy a combined ticket, which covers both transportation and entrance.

The National Gallery of Art
The museum covers art through times, lectures, concerts, guided tours and special exhibitions. Above all the National Gallery is huge. So huge that it causes sore feet, if you want to go through it all. Our advice is to choose one section and take it easy.

Glyptoteket
At the centre of Brewer Carl Jacobsen's Glyptotek is an impressive Winter garden, which is soothing in the Winter time, when you miss green plants. The museum has the largest collection of ancient art in Northern Europe - rare classical sculptures, Egyptian mummies and special exhibitions. All in all a very interesting place, situated just behind Tivoli.

Miscellaneous:
Tivoli
One never grows to old for Tivoli. The Tivoli Gardens are changing every season and is orchestrated for the seasons events with more sophistication than ever before. In Tivoli you can enjoy old fashioned rides, advanced amusements, classical music, rockmusic on fridays, pantomime, dine at restaurants and much more. You can also just stroll, when the lights are lit and enjoy the atmosphere.

The Harbour Boat Trip
There are different kinds of round trips. The cheapest is to go by the harbour busses, but then you will have to make do without a tourist guide. Most of the trips are scheduled with stops - you can get on and off several times. You can for instance make a break at the Opera and later go to Café Halvandet, where you can enjoy the view of Amalienborg (The Queens residence) from a sunbed.

The Black Diamond
The Black Diamond is a significant building - an addition to The Royal Library. It is a visit worth, also if you are not there to study the archives. There is a café, a restaurant and usually an exhibition. If you go to the old section of The Royal Library, one will find the Library Garden, a peaceful and lovely locality.

Christiania
The locality extends beyond the banks (part of the old defensive structure of Copenhagen) and there are many exciting housing constructions, music venues, cafées and stalls. An alternative district, grown out of the hippie culture. Go by the Metro to Christianshavn and walk from there. You can have guided tours or you can explore the area by yourself. If you are still perky afterwards, we recommend to go for a walk at neighbouring Christianshavn. The district the historical Copenhagen is most apparent.

Amalienborg
Amalienborg is the residence of the Royal Family. An impressive building in rococo. At Amalienborg one can experience the the Royal Life Guard stand guard. From the centre of the square you look right at the famous Copenhagen diagonal, across the fountain in Amaliehaven towards the Opera house.

Nørrebro
If you pass Dronning Louises bro (Queen Louise's bridge), you are in Nørrebro. A neighbourhood crowded with ethnic food stores, small design and fashion shops down the alleys. In Ravnsborggade is the city's largest selection of antique shops and second hand dealers.

Wallmans
At Wallmans in the old circus building close to the City Hall Square, one can have a jolly evening. The hall is decorated for the dinner show and it is definitely an impressive view. The show is entertaining and professional - later the nightclub and the bar with singing bartenders opens. The nightclub is open from fra 11 pm. and have a grown up target audience.

Jogging:
By the Lakes
By the lakes there are routes of different length to run - one, two or three lakes! If you take the entire length of the lakes, you have done 6 km. At times there can be quite crowded with runners, but it is possible to have the entity for yourself if you choose late evenings or early mornings.

Along the Harbour
Go to Østerport station and walk from there to Langelinie (10 min.), you can run all the way from Langelinie (the little Mermaid) to Sankt Annæ Plads (close to Nyhavn). A run with a beautiful view across the harbour.

Bathing:
Amager Strandpark (the beach park)
There are presently very good possibilities to bath in Copenhagen. Amager Strandpark is the latest and the largest. The sandy beach stretches over several kilometers and are never crowded. The bathing water is of good quality and appropriate in depth for both children and swimmers. It is easy to reach by the Metro. Get off at the station Lergravsparken!

Islands Brygge
A fabulous place a hot summer afternoon. Close to the centre. A couple of hours is easily spent on the "Bryggen" on a sunny day. many people bring a grill and end up hanging out there until late. If you wander along the wharf, you will reach the new bridge, running across the dock. The most advantageous is to go by bike!

DGI-byen
If it isn't summer or the sun is gone, DGI-byen is a good possibility for the ones who desire a swim. The rounded swimmingpool makes you want to go on swimming for ever. With an extended entrance ticket you have access to different kinds of saunas.
